The Challenge
Mauro Colagreco is one of the world's most celebrated chefs, holder of three Michelin stars, and his restaurant Mirazur in Menton (Alpes-Maritimes) was crowned world's best restaurant by The World's 50 Best. Making a documentary about this figure of global gastronomy demands an approach that respects his world while staying intimate enough to reveal what press coverage doesn't show.
Our Approach
ONEProd filmed Mauro Colagreco in his everyday life as a chef : the morning markets, the restaurant garden, the brigade in the thick of service preparation, and above all the moments of doubt and creation that precede every dish. The documentary follows the making of a signature dish — octopus — from sea to plate.
The cinematography draws on Italian painting : natural light, southern colours, depth of field. Mirazur is a documentary about rigour, beauty, and the visceral relationship between the Mediterranean and the table.
